Saturday – Moseley’s the place to be
The second weekend of Moseley Festival is another very active one, with a range of music, art, poetry, film, food and drink to enjoy.
Art plays a major part today. There’s the Art Trail at various venues, including the ‘Moseley Cut’ film competition entries at The Exchange. The entries for the Moseley Society art competition are on view at the Woodbridge Gallery. Artist Colin Gabbidon is on hand at Marcus Galleries to sketch portraits.
Saturday also sees a poetry workshop staged by Cannon Poets at the CDT; that starts at 10am, so there is just time to get down there.
This afternoon, the Moseley Holistic Centre offer a talk “Loving What Is -the work of Byron Katie”. Meanwhile, at the Bulls Head this afternoon you can listen to local legend Steve Ajao at the Saturday Blues Club.
Moving towards the early evening, there’s a food and conversation cafe starting at 6pm at the Buddhist Centre in Park Road on the topic of the film “Food, Inc”.
Today’s live music offering is Moseley’s own female close-harmony choir Magenta who are performing at 7pm at St Mary’s Church. Alternatively, you could go to the talk ‘The Magic of Tantra’ at the Moseley Holistic Centre.
Food and drink are also offered as part of the Festival today. The Beer Festival continues at the Prince of Wales, who also offer a Hog Roast in the garden this evening. There’s a cocktail evening at the Fighting Cocks, with a backdrop of 80s music, and special offers at Deolali and K2.
